Subject: New Web Site: ProBiotech

Dear All,

I thought I should bring to your attention my new Web Site, 'ProBiotech',
which went live yesterday.

The Domain is: http://www.ecotrop.org
The Base Url is: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/stott2

I hope you approve. Any suggestions for material would be welcomed as the
Site will be greatly developed over the next few months, with additional
sections on British/EU regulation and retailers. The focus initially is
somewhat American.

With best wishes,

Professor Philip Stott

"For out of olde feldes, as men seith,
Cometh al this newe corn fro yeer to yere;
And out of olde bokes, in good feith,
Cometh al this newe science that men lere."
[Geoffrey Chaucer (1340? - 1400)]

The reaction in Europe to the development of modern biotech crops
and animals has been far from
rational. The hysteria generated by the mass media and by
certain ideologically-driven
organisations is putting at risk a technology that is
vital for all our futures.

It is the purpose of this simple Web Site to introduce
agricultural biotechnology in a reasoned
manner to help to calm the worries that have been so unfairly
engendered in consumers.

Internet resources are provided to enable visitors to study issues
in depth and there is a petition by
which you may signal your support for the continued use and
development of biotechnology in
agriculture. There is also a News Page, updated regularly, and a
little Biotechnology Onscreen

The Web Site is the sole responsibility of Professor Philip Stott of
the University of London. Any
comments should be sent to Professor Stott at the ProBiotech E-Mail.
You may also join the E-mail
List for regular updates about the Site.

Thank you for visiting the Site.
